Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha says the handsome, dedicated patriotic lead character in the pro-junta Love Missions soap opera isn't him. When questioned by the Bangkok Post, Gen Prayut shrugged off the comparison saying: "No, if he were me, no one would watch it. Gen Prayut hosts one of the lowest-rated TV shows, Returning Happiness to the People, shown on all TV channels each Friday evening. Channel 7, a frequency owned by the Royal Thai Army, began broadcasting the show on Saturday. Gen Prayut denied ordering the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) to finance the soap, saying he has never watched it.
